GTAS Vet Guard is a comprehensive, next‑generation safeguarding system designed to provide veterans with an additional layer of protection, dignity, and support in moments of vulnerability. At the heart of the system is a secure, bespoke QR code assigned to each veteran. When scanned—whether by a member of the public, emergency services, or support personnel—it immediately triggers an alert to the veteran’s designated emergency contact, ensuring that someone they trust is made aware of the situation without delay. This rapid‑response mechanism is particularly valuable when a veteran is lost, injured, disoriented, or experiencing a mental‑health crisis, offering reassurance that help can be mobilised quickly and appropriately.

Each veteran is provided with a personalised digital profile, which they can update with essential information such as medical details, support needs, next‑of‑kin contacts, and a recent photograph. This profile serves as a reliable reference point for those assisting the veteran, enabling faster identification and more informed decision‑making in urgent situations. By combining modern technology with a compassionate, veteran‑centred approach, GTAS Vet Guard represents a significant step forward in safeguarding those who have served—ensuring they are never left without support when they need it most.
